Canyon Explorations/Expeditions is exclusively an oar and paddle company created to provide a unique experience in Grand Canyon.

Our Hybrid Trips are geared for individuals seeking a participatory vacation and include oar boats, a paddle boat and two inflatable kayaks. All Paddle Trips are available for those who want to paddle every day.
All trips begin and end in Flagstaff. Full Canyon trips cover the whole river, take about 2 weeks, and do not require hiking in or out at the mid way point. Upper Canyon trips cover the first 90 river miles and require an uphill hike to the canyon's rim on the last day. Lower Canyon trips begin with a hike down to the river and cover the second 135 miles.
Our long trip length provides more time for hiking, exploring the canyon, and relaxing in nature. We explore desert panoramas and winding side canyons while hiking to hidden paradises and lush natural gardens. Swim in secluded pools and discover Anasazi ruins ~ a culture that thrived in the canyon a thousand years ago. Learn about the canyon's history and environment (natural sciences) from our guides. We camp nightly under the stars at the river's edge.
Our river guides are experienced, friendly, and caring individuals. Each river crew consists of 6 guides and is a carefully selected balance of men and women representing a spectrum of interpretive interests including geology, archeology, and ecology.
You do not have to have any camping or rafting experience to journey with us, only the willingness to accept weather and climate changes and the desire to participate. We provide all the camping equipment you'll need.
